In the central part of town stands this structure: a three-story stone building with an open atrium inside. Along the walls of each floor, tall bookshelves are tightly packed, their damp smell of mold and dust filling the air. With little else in the interior, it seems likely that the entire building once served as a vast repository of books.
However, as the investigation proceeded, a troubling discrepancy came to light.
